Susan is a Presbyterian minister, professional photographer, and yoga teacher. Her spiritual journey has taken her through a doctorate program and on her own pilgrimages to sacred, thin places — walking labyrinths, sitting on the Red Rocks of Sedona, and standing in rivers casting a fly line. In this photograph, she's in Ireland, photographing the holy wells of St. Brigid — one stop in her lifelong search for ways to connect body and soul with the sacred feminine: the Shekhinah, the Holy Spirit, the still waters that have always been there, waiting.

Room by Room is the culmination of decades spent with women in the church, braided together with her own continual journey home to herself. It carries her deep love of people and an open heart that listens and accepts them exactly where they are — trusting the wise woman deep within each of them to lead the way. "Room by Room," Susan will tell you, "does not come from me — it's the deep wisdom of the Spirit, for such a time as this."
